This is a classic, simple and beautifully elegant Patek Philippe vintage watch, 18K solid yellow gold, 28mm in diameter, although this watch is over 60 years old, the dial here is so clean. Cal. 23-300 manual movement, 18 Jewels, it was a cornerstone of Patek production for almost 20 years, and it is unusual in that it is equipped with both a Breguet Overcoil Hairspring and a free-sprung Gyromax balance, both significant refinements and rarely found in the same movement. The movement has an anti-magnetic ring, straight-line lever escapement, Gyromax balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, and it also has KIF shock protection. This movement along with the Patek 27-AM 400, and the Vacheron K1001/2 are considered by many experts to occupy that most rarified atmosphere of the very finest quality, hand-wind time only movements ever produced. This movement was so successful it remained in continuous production between 1956 and 1975.
